After an incredible end to the 2024 WNBA regular season, the Indiana Fever are looking to continue that success as they push to win the franchise’s second championship. This is a full betting guide on the Fever, including the team’s odds to win a title, and Caitlin Clark’s chances at winning MVP according to ESPN Bet.
The opening line for the Fever to win the championship is +450, which puts them in third place behind only the Las Vegas Aces and New York Liberty. They’re also tied with the Minnesota Lynx.
Last season, they weren’t expected to be instant contenders with Clark, but there were some expectations now that they had at least a bonafide star duo with Aliyah Boston being drafted the year prior. While the first half of the season was abysmal for Indiana, their play in the second half made them look like true contenders.
Though they didn’t make it past the first round of the playoffs, the future was still looking bright. Over the offseason, they:
They certainly aren’t the title favorites, but being among the top four teams is a perfect position for the Fever.
After finishing third in MVP voting last year, Clark is entering her second season with the second-highest odds to win the WNBA’s “Most Valuable Player” award. Las Vegas Aces superstar A’ja Wilson remains the favorite at +200, but the lines are very close.
While Clark got off to a slow start in her rookie season, she ended up breaking nearly every record imaginable. Now that she’s used to her WNBA competition, it’s unlikely she’ll get off to as slow of a start as she did last year.
If she can consistently put up the numbers that she did towards the end of last season, the league is in trouble, and she very well may take home the MVP award.
Unlike the MVP award, Wilson is heavily favored to finish with the most total points in the regular season as she sits with a -140 line. That said, this makes a lot of sense considering the playstyle of each player. Clark, though she can score at will, is an amazing playmaker and passes up a lot of shot attempts.
She could still put up a ton of points, but it’s to be expected that she finishes amongst the leaders in assists as well. This is what makes her such a dynamic weapon, and a legitimate contender for the MVP award.
